We were honoured to have environmental artist Heather Mc Dermott visit our school recently to teach willow weaving to Primary 6 and 7 pupils. Heather taught us all about the history of the willow tree and its wood in Ireland and challenged everyone with their own weaving tasks. Thanks to Heather, who was working on behalf of the Mourne Heritage Partnership, we all made beautiful Christmas gifts. We look forward to Heather returning to work with us again very soon!
