As part of our daily Mental Maths warm-up, we played a game called ‘Disappearing Numbers’. For the last remaining number, I asked the class to come up with a very smart sum that involved more than one operation (+ - x / ). Isla mentally thought of this sum and then we checked it out on the calculator. It’s wonderful to say that Isla’s brain was her calculator and that she did not actually require a calculator to work it out.
